Glasgow Dining Destinatio#5

This week I paid a visit to Ting Thai Caravan's latest location on West Nile Street.

Ting Thai Caravan is a trendy and authentic Thai street food spot which started out as a food truck and now has 3 locations across Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Having visited its sister locations in Edinburgh countless times, I was ecstatic to hear of the latest location opening up in Glasgow.
The Glasgow food scene will certainly be glad to heard this.

This trendy Glasgow restaurant opened its doors just 2 months ago and seems to have been  constantly flooded with diners ever since.
There is even currently already talk of the opening of a second Glasgow location- which speaks volumes!

Ting Thai prides itself on serving authentic dishes in a vibrant and trendy dining room and is the perfect spot for a relaxed atmosphere and some fab food, serving dishes such as Pad Thai and Thai green curry, as well as a variety of delicious plates that you have probably never even
heard of before!!

Ting Thai does not accept bookings and operates on a first come, first serve basis which really helps to enhance the casual, street food style vibe.

Service is great and staff are really friendly. We got there at about 7pm on a Friday evening and the restaurant was packed, but we got seated straight away. This being said, it was filled with young people, providing a lively and vibrant, but still laid back atmosphere

The decor in this restaurant is reminiscent of somewhere you would walk into off of the street in Bangkok,  with cool neon lights, an industrial style interior, and 80's disco music in the background- Definitely putting me in the mood to go out after!

Having visited before in Edinburgh, I already knew what dishes were good!
However, the menu is quite extensive and has the potential to be a tad confusing, but don't worry-  staff are very helpful and happy to provide you with advice and recommendations.

In order to sample a variety of everything, 4 classic dishes were ordered:

Thai Green Curry

Prawn Pad Thai

Khao Mun Gai Tod- shallow fried chicken with ginger, chilli, grated coconut, cucumber & shallot ajard, two brothers sauce & Jasmine rice

Goong Frong Beer- king size prawns in beer batter and a mango salsa

As expected, food was really tasty, of a high quality and full of flavour
In addition it arrived very quickly
Furthermore, they provide really big portions, so you are certainly getting your moneys worth

If you do happen to just fancy a night in with some good Thai food, fortunately they also offer delivery for those lucky enough to live in the city centre proximity!

I must add that they are also currently looking for staff for anyone interested- this certainly seems like a fun place to work.

I undoubtedly recommend this place, wether it be for a quick lunch or a weekend night out, this authentic Glasgow restaurant is the right vibe for any occasion- you wont be disappointed!!

Food- 9/10
Service- 9/10
Menu- 8/10
Value for Money-8/10
Atmosphere- 10/10

Please feel free to also have a look at our TikTok of this place which may better capture the atmosphere!
